What We Do

The Maryssa’s Mission Foundation (MMF) provides families with medically fragile children, essential items and services that supplement hospital resources. Our team meets families during one of the most vulnerable times of their life, at the bedside of their sick child.  The MMF provides families admitted to a children’s hospital with our signature blessing bags, delicious meals, and temporary housing.

Signature Blessing Bags-

Our MMF Signature Blessing Bags contain activity books for children and parents, notebooks and pens, parking and food vouchers, a small monetary donation, and hygiene products.

Delicious Meals-

The MMF uses area caterers to bring meals to families who prefer not to leave their child’s hospital room.  Our partnership with the Ronald McDonald Homes and local children’s hospitals give us access to provide meals in areas such as the Ronald McDonald Rooms that are restricted to patients and their families.  We also partner with the Ronald McDonald Homes to prepare and serve meals in-house to over 100 individuals each visit.  We conclude our outreach with an opportunity to connect with families and create a relaxing environment to take their mind off their life stressors and return a sense of normalcy, if only for a moment!

Temporary Housing-

The MMF recently partnered with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center (CCHMC) to launch the Home Away from Home Project.  CCHMC attracts families from around the world because of their high-ranking quality of care.  The Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati is the area's leader in temporary lodging.  Unfortunately, they must turn families away or place them on a waitlist due to being at maximum occupancy.  The MMF has committed and acted to bridge the displacement of families by working with various partners to place families in area hotels until they can be accommodated at the Ronald McDonald House.

Testimonials from the Families we Serve

“Maryssa's Mission has been a great source of support for our family…They [The Maryssa’s Mission Foundation] keep him [Peyton] and our family covered in prayer while also helping alleviate stressors that come with having a medically fragile child in your family.”

– Nichole (Parma OH, Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital Heart Patient Mom)

“I don't even remember how I connected with Maryssa's Mission Foundation. What I do know is that they have been a blessing from God. Their support, financial, spiritual, and emotional, have eased some of the burden from my weary shoulders. The fact that they love my daughter and my family without ever having met us speaks volumes to the level of compassion and understanding that lives in their hearts.”

-Maggie (Richmond KY, Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center Heart Patient Mom)

"I don't know where to even begin, I feel like I would need a whole book to describe how amazing Maryssa's Foundation and Mitch and Mindy are!!! There are so many amazing things about the foundation. The amount of love, encouragement and support that they give to families with medically fragile children is beyond words! We could never thank them enough!!!"

-Jennifer (Elyria OH, Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital Heart Patient Mom)
